Learning Outcome
After the successful participation in the course Energy and Environmental Context, Energy Transition and Sustainable Development the students are able to:

Content
- Energy and environmental context: growth of energy consumption; energy and climate change; energy independence and security act; state of the world's energy resources; opening of energy markets and price trends; the energycontext in MENA region.
- Energy transition and sustainable development: new energy technologies; biofuels (different production); biofuels (industrial processes); sustainable development and its limits; CO2 issue; energy optimization in the refinery; CO2 capture and storage; H2 (new energy vector); energy transition and globalresponsibility; economic estimates

Learning Outcome

- know and interpret the requirements of ISO 14001
- acquire the tools and measurement indicators for the successful ISO 14001 certification
Content
- Energy Management Systems: initiate the optimizing energy consumption process; discover the ISO 50001; initiate an Energy Management System ISO 5000; implement an Energy Management System; monitoring andmeasurement; management review.
- Energy and environmental management systems: the challenges of environmental management system; establishment of an EMS according to ISO 14001; acquire the key tools to build EMS according to ISO 14001; continuousimprovement; organize efficient management reviews
